Bespoke tailoring develops a garment through consultation, individual measurements, cloth and design selection, fittings and adjustments. The pattern, balance and proportions are considered for the wearer rather than selected from a standard ready-made size. Depending on the garment and chosen specification, construction may be fused/basic, half canvas or full canvas, and handwork is applied where that specification calls for it. The number of fittings varies with the garment, construction, whether the client is new or returning, the adjustments required and the available schedule. From consultation through final fitting, the process focuses on appropriate construction, accurate adjustment and clear planning for the garment’s intended use.
