The 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group are taking place at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) from Monday 12 October through Sunday 18 October 2026. The formal Annual Meetings plenary falls on Friday 16 October within that wider meeting week.
This independent guide brings together official event information, practical Bangkok arrival and venue-planning notes, and a realistic way to discuss a tailoring appointment during a business trip. Class Bespoke is an independent Bangkok tailor and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the IMF, the World Bank Group or the event organizers.
Time-sensitive note: this guide was checked against official sources on 16 October 2026, while the Meetings were underway. Security, traffic, public-transport access and operating arrangements can change at short notice. Check the official Meetings and Thai host channels on the day rather than treating any travel plan as fixed.
Annual Meetings essentials
- Dates: 12–18 October 2026, Bangkok time.
- Main venue: Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, 60 Ratchadaphisek Road, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110.
- Formal plenary date: 16 October 2026, inside the full meeting week.
- In-person access: controlled for registered and accredited participants; badges are scanned and people and belongings are screened.
- Public access: selected public events may be streamed online, but the general public should not assume walk-in access to the QSNCC campus.
The Boards of Governors of the IMF and World Bank Group convene during the week alongside the International Monetary and Financial Committee and Development Committee. Official descriptions include discussion of the global economic outlook, financial stability, inclusive growth, jobs and poverty reduction. Thai host authorities projected more than 15,000 delegates from 191 countries before the event; that figure is a host estimate, not a final attendance count.
Getting to QSNCC: plan, then recheck
QSNCC is normally connected directly to the MRT Blue Line at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre station, Exit 3. However, live security or traffic measures can temporarily override normal access. A date-specific host notice, for example, announced road controls and a station closure during part of 16 October. That should not be treated as an all-week condition, but it shows why same-day confirmation matters.
Official hotel–QSNCC shuttles operate for eligible Meeting participants through 18 October. Boarding requires a Meeting badge or, before badge collection, the specified registration confirmation. These shuttles are not a general visitor service and are not connected with Class Bespoke. Metered taxis and ride-hailing remain general options, although official guidance says participant drop-off and pickup take place outside the campus security perimeter.
Allow more time than a normal Bangkok journey for police controls, traffic management and security screening. Review the World Bank Group venue and services page, the official participant guide and the latest Thai host notices before leaving. Do not rely on a saved map route or an earlier screenshot when a live notice is available.
Arrival and visitor preparation
The official participant guide advises travelling with a passport that has at least six months’ validity and one blank page. Visa requirements depend on nationality, passport type and individual circumstances. Registered participants may have specific arrangements, but eligibility should be confirmed through the official Thai e-Visa service or the relevant Thai embassy or consulate; it should never be assumed from event registration alone.
Non-Thai nationals entering Thailand generally need to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), apart from the limited official exceptions. The Immigration Bureau says the form can be submitted within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. It is free through the official TDAC website and is not a visa.
For wardrobe planning, the Thai host guide gives a broad October range of 24–32°C and notes that light rain is possible. This is planning guidance, not a live forecast. A compact umbrella and a light layer for air-conditioned interiors can be useful; check the current forecast before each day’s schedule.
Dress for formal meetings and Bangkok conditions
The participant guide recommends business attire for formal meetings. During Thailand’s official mourning period, international participants are not required to wear mourning attire, but may choose black, navy, grey or other subdued colours for official functions and visits to government or royal premises as a gesture of respect.
For a suit or separate jacket intended for Bangkok, cloth should be considered together with construction, lining, opacity, drape and the number of hours the garment will be worn. The lightest cloth is not automatically the best answer: a very light fabric may feel different under strong air conditioning, hold less structure or require different construction choices. Use the Class Bespoke Fabrics guide to prepare questions, then confirm current cloth availability in consultation.
A restrained navy, charcoal or mid-grey business wardrobe can move between formal sessions, meetings and evening commitments without implying that any colour is mandatory. Shirts, trousers and a separate jacket can also extend a travel wardrobe, but the right garment mix depends on the person, itinerary and dress requirements.

Planning a Class Bespoke consultation around the Meetings
Start with your actual Bangkok schedule rather than an assumed completion date. When you request a private consultation, share:
- your arrival and departure dates;
- the garment or wardrobe problem you want to discuss;
- the functions for which it may be worn;
- your available consultation and fitting windows;
- your Bangkok hotel or preferred Class Bespoke showroom;
- any immovable meeting, airport or event commitments.
Hotel or on-site measurements can be arranged by appointment where appropriate. Priority fitting arrangements are subject to availability. Neither is part of the Annual Meetings, and neither should be presented as an official participant service. You can also review the verified Bangkok showroom locations before choosing how to meet the tailoring team.
The bespoke process explains the broader sequence from consultation and measurements through fittings and final review. The number and timing of fittings depend on the garment, construction, individual fit requirements and the available schedule.
Realistic turnaround expectations during a short visit
There is no universal completion time that is responsible to promise for every commission. Cloth availability, garment type, construction, workshop capacity, the fitting work required and the traveller’s available windows all affect feasibility. A measurement appointment does not by itself guarantee completion before the Meetings end or before a flight.
Class Bespoke offers express tailoring options for eligible garments, but eligibility and timing must be assessed before cutting. Share the deadline first. The team can then confirm whether the proposed garment and fitting plan are realistic, suggest a different garment scope, or explain that the requested timing is not suitable.
For visitors with a little more time, the international visitor guide explains how to plan a Bangkok tailoring visit without turning a travel window into an unsupported rush promise. If the schedule is exceptionally compressed, consider whether a consultation, cloth discussion or future-order plan is more useful than forcing a same-trip completion.
A practical appointment sequence
- Send the complete brief. Include dates, intended garment, use, hotel or showroom preference and every possible fitting window.
- Confirm the appointment. Do not leave QSNCC or change a meeting schedule until Class Bespoke has confirmed the location and time.
- Discuss feasibility before selection. Review cloth, construction, fit requirements and the real deadline together.
- Protect agreed fitting time. Leave a buffer for Bangkok travel and do not position the last possible review immediately before an airport transfer.
- Confirm collection or later delivery. Any delivery destination, timing, charges, duties and risk should be agreed for the individual order.

Frequently asked questions
When and where are the 2026 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings?
The meeting week runs from 12 to 18 October 2026 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. The formal Annual Meetings plenary is on 16 October within that wider week.
Can members of the public enter QSNCC during the Meetings?
Do not assume walk-in access. In-person entry is controlled for registered and accredited participants, with badge scanning and security screening. Some public events may be available by official livestream.
Is the MRT always available for QSNCC during the Meetings?
QSNCC is normally connected to the MRT Blue Line at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre station, Exit 3, but temporary security or transport measures can change access. Check the official venue and Thai host notices on the day.
Can Class Bespoke take measurements at my Bangkok hotel?
Hotel or on-site measurements may be arranged by appointment where appropriate. Share your hotel, dates, garment brief and available times so the team can confirm feasibility. This is an independent Class Bespoke service, not an official Annual Meetings service.
Can a suit be completed before I leave Bangkok?
That cannot be promised without assessing the specific commission. Garment type, cloth availability, construction, workshop capacity, fitting requirements and your available schedule all matter. Express options apply only to eligible garments after feasibility is confirmed.
What should I send before requesting a tailoring appointment?
Send your arrival and departure dates, preferred location, intended garment, functions or dress requirements, and all available fitting windows. Include fixed meetings and airport transfers so the proposed plan does not depend on unrealistic travel time.
