What is happening in Bangkok today?
The Thai Meteorological Department’s forecast for 26 September says an active low-pressure system is affecting the lower Central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Heavy rain is expected in many areas, with very heavy rain possible in some places. TMD warns that accumulated rainfall can cause flash flooding and short-term inundation in low-lying or repeatedly flooded areas.
This does not mean that every Bangkok road is closed or that the whole city is flooded. Conditions are local and time-sensitive. A route that is passable now may be affected later, while another part of the city may have little disruption.
Check the route, not only the destination
Before leaving a hotel, office or appointment, check the latest weather, street-flood and traffic information for the whole journey. Bangkok’s Department of Drainage and Sewerage publishes current water-level and street-flood monitoring, while TMD provides the official weather outlook.
Avoid roads with visible floodwater or official warnings. Do not assume that a taxi or private car can safely use a route simply because the destination is open. Allow additional time, and reschedule a non-essential trip if safe access is uncertain.
What about BTS, MRT and other public transport?
Rail services can be useful when road traffic is disrupted, but access to a station may still involve exposed walkways, stairs and flooded streets. Check the relevant operator’s current service information and the conditions between the station and your final destination. Do not treat a running rail service as proof that every connecting road is safe.
Practical advice for visitors and business travellers
- Keep passports, electronics and important documents in a waterproof inner bag.
- Use footwear with reliable grip and avoid walking through water when depth, road surface or electrical hazards are unclear.
- Confirm meetings, hotel transfers and appointments before setting out.
- Allow extra time, but do not let a schedule pressure you into using a flooded route.
- Follow TMD, Bangkok drainage information and official emergency messages rather than unverified viral posts.
Class Bespoke showroom update
Sukhumvit — closed today, 26 September. The Class Bespoke Sukhumvit showroom at 9/1 Sukhumvit 49/4 is temporarily closed because heavy-rain and flood conditions are preventing safe, reliable access.
Thong Lo — open. The Class Bespoke Thong Lo showroom at 154 Thong Lo remains open. This does not mean it is safely accessible from every part of Bangkok. Check your complete route and contact the team before travelling if conditions are uncertain.
Clients booked at Sukhumvit may contact Class Bespoke to reschedule or ask whether the Thong Lo showroom is a practical alternative. Some fittings may be postponed by approximately two days depending on conditions. Deliveries affected by flooding or road access will resume when transportation can operate safely.
